WHEN THE RUBBER MEETS THE ROAD

You tell me I am worth more than I could know
But what I feel says no
My experiences they go south
But you tell me I’m just like you

So how does what I know collide with my feelings
When I cannot see you
When I’m ready to give up?

When the rubber meets the road
Emotions in the driver’s seat
This reality stares in my eyes
When my feelings boil over
Filling me with dread
Would you please tell me who I am?

When I ask myself what would Jesus do?
I find I cannot do it
I realize I’m not supposed to do
I was meant to be

So how does what I know collide with my feelings
When I cannot see you
When I’m ready to give up?

When the rubber meets the road
Emotions in the driver’s seat
This reality stares in my eyes
When my feelings boil over
Filling me with dread
Would you please tell me who I am?

I need you please to remind me who I am
‘Cause I can’t stand what I’ve been
